GRATITUDE SWEETENS EVEN THE TINNIEST GESTURE.

JESUS IN BED!!!

South Suntreso Seventh-Day Adventist Church has paid an amount of GH¢ 18,927.00 to absorb hospital bills of 11 patients at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH). Leadership of the Church has also donated assorted fruits, diapers and pampers to each patient at KATH. The foregoing act of generosity occurred on Saturday, 4th November, 2023 at the forecourt of the hospital. Madam Dorcas Asare (Young Women’s Coordinator for South Suntreso SDA Church) presented the items to the Deputy Chief Nursing Officer for KATH, Madam Marian Osei Bonsu.

Ahead of the donation at KATH, the Church also carried out same activity at the Kwadaso, Ahinsan, and Bremang SDA hospitals.

Total cost of all items donated plus the footing of the medical expenses of patients was given as GH¢ 50,000.00. The intervention is the initiative of the Young Women of the South Suntreso SDA Church, falling under a project dubbed: “Jesus In Bed”.

Receiving the items, the Chief Nursing Officer for KATH thanked the leadership of the Church for the support. She also called on philanthropists, institutions to extend same assistance to them since most patients are hard pressed financially.

Jesus In Bed” is a charity project, implemented by the Young Women for this year 2023. It is aimed at reaching out to the sick especially those who are in dare need of support.

Madam Dorcas Owusu Asare, (Young Women’s Coordinator) said that as a Church it is incumbent in them to reach out to patients, put smiles on their faces and assure them that with Christ they still have hope. They are of the strong believe that showing love to the needy equates showing love to Christ.

The South Suntreso District Pastor, Pastor Adu Kwadwo also admonished Churches in Ghana to follow their example by supporting the needy even with the little they have. According to him, doing that is a demonstration of the love of Christ through the Church to the world.
